Both Iran and Ukraine show war is still old people talking & young men dying 

The long time the American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has spent at sea has shown not only how difficult it is to manage long wars, but also how hard war can be for the people fighting it.

The Lincoln has been at sea for almost nine months. It is close to breaking the record for the longest time a US aircraft carrier has stayed away from its home port since the Vietnam War. Reports say that many crew members are feeling unhappy and stressed. Some families of sailors have also strongly criticized military leaders.

The Lincoln’s situation shows some of the problems with the way the US has handled the war. The goals of the war have not always been clear, and they have changed over time. This has made it harder to plan supplies, schedules, and time off for the sailors. Many sailors and their families do not know when they will return home.

The same problem can be seen in other conflicts today, including Trump’s actions involving Iran and Putin’s war in Ukraine. Leaders make decisions, but young soldiers are often the ones who face the greatest danger.

Today, people can quickly share information through the internet and social media, making it harder for governments to hide the human cost of war. If more young people continue to die in wars that people believe have no clear purpose, public anger may continue to grow.

Leaders need to think carefully about the consequences of their decisions. If they do not, they may eventually face strong opposition from the people they lead.
