Road to salvation: One humanity, zero prejudice
Human life is often compared to a journey of self-discovery, but according to spiritual philosophy, it is much more than that. It is a gradual process of purification through which the individual consciousness rediscovers its original divine nature.
Sadhana, spiritual practice, is an effort to remove the distortions and impurities that obscure the true Self. Just as raw gold must pass through fire to become pure and radiant, we must refine our minds through discipline, self-control, and devotion. The impurities that cloud the mind – such as fear, greed, pride, anger, and attachment – are not part of our essential nature. They arise due to influence of material and psychological forces. Through spiritual practice, these limitations can be transformed and ultimately dissolved.
Creation is a process of descent from the subtle to the crude. Cosmic Consciousness gradually manifests as mind and matter, eventually producing the physical universe. Spiritual evolution, therefore, is the reverse journey. The seeker moves from the gross to subtle, from the physical to mental, and from the mental to spiritual. This inward movement leads towards the realisation of the Supreme Consciousness that lies beyond all limitations of space, time, and individuality.
The Supreme Reality cannot be understood through the senses or even through the ordinary mind. The senses perceive only finite objects, while the mind itself is limited by its conditioning. The Infinite can be realised only through the awakening of the deeper self. As the mind becomes purified and absorbed in the thought of the Supreme, the barriers separating the individual from the Cosmic gradually disappear.
All forms of prejudice – whether based on caste, birth, nationality, or social status – are products of an incomplete understanding of reality. If the same Divine consciousness exists in every being, then no one can be considered inherently superior or inferior.
Human worth is determined not by birth but by character and conduct. A true spiritual person is one who sees the presence of the Divine in all beings and acts accordingly. Such a person rises above divisions and embraces universalism.
Another important message is that service to humanity is itself a form of spiritual practice. Since every individual and every part of creation is an expression of the Supreme Consciousness, serving society becomes equivalent to serving God. Whether one works for the welfare of a village, a district, or humanity, such service acquires spiritual significance when performed with a spirit of universal love.
Knowledge and action are valuable, but they remain incomplete without love for the Supreme. Through sincere devotion, selfless service, and continuous spiritual effort, the individual mind merges into the Cosmic flow, transcending all limitations and suffering.
The message is both simple and profound: salvation is not achieved through rituals, social status, or intellectual arguments. It is attained by purifying the mind, overcoming ego and discrimination, and realising the Divine presence in every being. The path to liberation lies in expanding the self until it embraces the entire universe as one family. In that universal vision, all divisions vanish, and the individual discovers eternal freedom, peace, and oneness with the Infinite.
