End of infantino or World cup?
At long last, Fifa president Gianni Infantino has gone too far. He sought to flog off the World Cup to the Kushner family and private equity. After Uefa proffered a boycott of all upcoming Fifa tournaments, the outcome is simple: the sport’s overlord, a football Jesus in white sneakers, who considered himself a head of state, is facing the beginning of the end. Infantino’s downfall might be steep. On Friday, Carlos Cordeiro, one of his senior advisers and a former banker at Goldman Sachs, resigned. Cordeiro said he had been left in the dark about the plans.
