Bankipur matters for India

With his victory in Bankipur, a well-known election strategist has finally won an election in his own name. But this Prashant Kishor win is much more than that. It gives Jan Suraaj its first MLA after the party failed to win a single seat in last year’s state election. More importantly, this happened in a Patna seat regarded as a BJP fortress for three decades. And RJD was reduced to a distant third place. In one fell swoop, PK has shaken both the poles around which Bihar politics has revolved for a generation.
