Yash’s highly anticipated film ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-ups’ was released with much fanfare as fans celebrated their Rocking Star’s return to the big screens after almost four years. However, a section of moviegoers was reportedly unhappy after watching the film.

‘Toxic’ screening turns chaotic

A video from a theatre is now going viral on X. The clip shows an angry crowd demanding refunds after the screening. People can be heard shouting for their money back. The situation reportedly became difficult to control, following which the theatre owner called the police. The cops arrived to bring the crowd under control.The video shared by an internet user has started an online discussion. Some social media users have strongly criticised the film after watching the viral clip.One netizen wrote, “Bro #yash created a new record in Indian cinema… that nobody else has been able to achieve till now. People asking for refunds. No way!! Easily Biggest disaster of the decade.”

‘Toxic’ gets a big opening

Despite the negative to mixed reactions from some viewers and largely unfavourable reviews, ‘Toxic’ recorded a huge opening at the Indian box office. The film earned around Rs 101 crore net and Rs 120 crore gross across India on its opening day. The Hindi version contributed around Rs 55 crore, while the Kannada version earned less than Rs 25 crore. The Telugu version collected around Rs 11 crore as per Sacnilk.

About ‘Toxic’

Speaking about ‘Toxic’, the film is a gangstar action thriller directed by Geetu Mohandas and co-written by Yash and Geetu. The basic premise shows the rise of Yash’s character Raya to become a crime lord in Goa under Portuguese rule. Later the film’s story progresses towards the conflict between Raya and his son Ticket, also played by Yash.The film also features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in important roles.The film was released on August 26 in multiple languages.
