Lucknow: Making emergency care safer and faster for critically ill patients is at the heart of EMPARV International 2026, where doctors, nurses and emergency-care professionals from India and abroad are undergoing hands-on training.The four-day programme, being held from Aug 20 to 23 at SGPGIMS and KGMU, features more than 21 workshops covering emergency response, trauma, obstetric emergencies, bedside ultrasound, ECG, neurocritical care, ventilation and patient safety.The programme uses simulations, hands-on stations, case discussions and scenario-based learning to improve the ability of healthcare teams.A key workshop on patient safety, human factors and communication – global perspectives highlighted that safer emergency care depends not only on clinical expertise and technology, but also on communication, teamwork and systems that reduce preventable errors.SGPGIMS director Prof RK Dhiman said: “Patient safety in emergency care is not achieved through clinical expertise and advanced technology alone. It also depends on effective communication, teamwork, human factors and well-designed systems that anticipate and minimise preventable errors.”International experts from the UK, US, Singapore and leading Indian institutions are participating in the programme.
