BHOPAL: A wedding at a village under Parasia in Chhindwara turned into a dramatic scene after the bride garlanded her lover instead of the groom, with a video of her running off the stage just before the ceremony now going viral on social media.The incident took place on the intervening night of April 22-23, leaving guests shocked and triggering tension at the venue.According to information, the groom’s procession arrived from Parasia and all rituals were progressing as planned.The venue was packed, celebrations were underway, and arrangements for the ceremony were completed. As the couple was brought on stage for the garlanding ritual, the bride suddenly stepped away and put the garland around a man present in the gathering before embracing him.The unexpected turn left those present stunned.ID@undefined Caption not available.The situation quickly escalated as members from both sides got into a heated argument, which soon turned into a scuffle. The bride’s family members allegedly assaulted the man and forced him out of the venue.Amid the chaos, the groom refused to go ahead with the marriage and left with the procession without completing the ceremony.“The incident took place on the night of April 22-23. Its video has now surfaced. Both the girl and the boy were majors, we did not have much role in it. The groom side did not file a complaint, but while returning they gave written information saying that the bride’s family members are angry, and if any mishap happens with the bride and her male friend, the groom side should not be held responsible as they left without any issue,” Umreth police station in-charge Vijay Thakur told TOI.
