Walking in with the visitors reeling at 6/2 after the early dismissals of Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, Iyer anchored the innings with a composed 68 off 47 balls, striking six fours and a six to guide India to 189/7.

Shortly after the innings ended, rain never stopped and played the spoilsports in the series opener and match was abandoned as cut off time was in another 45 minutes or so after first innings but they don’t have enough time to get the ground ready, even if it stopped raining which it hasn’t.
