Shani Trayodashi 2026: Significance
Pradosh is one of the most significant days in Sanatan Dharma, the day is dedicated to worship Lord Shiva. The day falls on Trayodashi tithi of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha and the tithi that falls on Saturday (Shanivaar) known as Shani Traodashi. Though, the day is purely dedicated to Lord Shiva but as it will fall on Saturday so Shani dev will also be worshipped on the same day. Devotees observe fast from dawn to dusk and offer their sincere prayers to them by performing various religious and spiritual activities. This fast is believed to remove all the obstacles from your life, bring marital bliss, it will also remove shani dosha and karmic burdens.
How to worship Lord Shani on Shani Trayodashi:
Lord Shani dev is also known as Saturn, one of the Navgrahas and he is regarded as the deity of karma, justice, discipline and righteousness and people, who do not follow these things in life get affected by the Shani dosha. To remove the bad effects of Shani, you should pray to the Lord on Shani Trayodashi by lighting a diya beneath the peepal tree and chanting Shani mantras. He gives reward and punishment according to your karma so one must follow the ethics and morals in life.
Shani Trayodashi 2026: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath. 2. Worship Lord Shiva by visiting temple and performing abhishekam. 3. You can also visit Shani temple or Navgraha temple to worship Lord Shani dev. 4. Light a diya with mustard oil and keep it under the peepal tree. 5. Chant Shani mantras to appease Lord Shani dev. 6. Chanting Hanuman chalisa on this specific day will remove the malefic effects of Shani. 7. Donate black clothes, sesame seeds, urad daal and black umbrella to the needy ones. 8. You can also feed the crows on this particular day to seek blessings of Lord Shani dev. 9. During Gaudhuli time, you should worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and offer them fruits, sweets, flowers and home made bhog prasad. 10. Complete the puja rituals by chanting Shiva aarti.
