Section 163 CrPC enforced in Jhansi for smooth conduct of Home Guards Recruitment Exam | Kanpur News
Jhansi: District administration enforced section 163 of the Criminal Procedure Code across the district to ensure strict compliance and maintain order during the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s written examination for Home Guards Enrolment-2025, held here on Saturday.District magistrate Gaurang Rathi and SSP BBGTS Murthy jointly reviewed the arrangements at 28 examination centres where the test was conducted in two shifts.To ensure transparency and prevent malpractice, the officials inspected key centres, including Bundelkhand University and Government Inter College. They also visited control rooms set up in principals’ offices and monitored live CCTV footage of examination halls, reviewing recording systems as well.During the inspection, the district magistrate made it clear that cheating would not be tolerated under any circumstances. Strict instructions were issued to invigilators to verify candidates thoroughly and prevent impersonation. Agencies were directed to allow entry only after careful verification of admit cards.The administration also reviewed facilities such as electricity, drinking water at the centres. Adequate police deployment was ensured at all centres, with senior officers directed to continuously patrol and monitor the situation.According to additional district magistrate (Administration) Shiv Pratap Shukla, a total of 11,424 candidates were registered in the first shift, of which 8,634 appeared. In the second shift, out of 11,424 registered candidates, 8,754 appeared.The officials confirmed that both shifts of the examination were conducted peacefully and without disruption. The administration congratulated all police and administration personnel for ensuring the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
