Mumbai cop removed for threatening student protestors: 'Will book you in drug case, you'll spend rest of your life in jail'
Mumbai Police on Thursday initiated a probe after a viral video allegedly showed a police driver threatening student protesters.

MUMBAI: Mumbai Police on Thursday ordered an inquiry into a viral video purportedly showing a police driver threatening student protesters with fabricated criminal cases if they returned to agitate.The widely shared video allegedly shows the driver warning students that drugs would be planted on them and that they would be booked under narcotics laws, forcing them to spend the rest of their lives in jail if they took part in further protests.The constable has been identified as Pawan Sangle, who is attached to the Motor Vehicle Department and is currently posted at Sion police station.A police official said an inquiry had been ordered into the incident.“After verifying the facts, the driver concerned has been removed from his present posting till the completion of the inquiry,” the official said.Mumbai has been witnessing protests in solidarity with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led students’ agitation in New Delhi.
