Lucknow: From handwritten letters to social media, changing ideas of companionship took centre stage at Saturday’s Museum Mixer, titled ‘Love and Chaos: Modern Relationships in Changing Times,’ at Lucknow Bioscope, Kaiserbagh.Opening the session, poet Toshani, who is also an assistant professor at UPIDR, Lucknow, explored how the quest for online validation influences people’s lives. From the audience, Gurleen Kaur, owner of a performing arts studio, added another dimension to the conversation, highlighting how societal expectations continue to shape marriage. Gurleen’s remarks prompted the speaker to reflect on Ramakrishna Paramahansa and Sarada Devi, 19th-century spiritual figures, whose relationship prioritised spiritual partnership over conventional marital roles. The session also examined novelist Amrita Pritam’s unconventional journey of love, with student Namasvi urging the gathering to trust life’s timing rather than rushing outcomes.Attendees penned their thoughts during an interactive activity before 20-year-old Shikhar Maurya concluded the evening with his poem ‘Meri Prem Kahani.’
