Infosys bags three large deals worth $325 mn, including Volvo Cars deal
Bengaluru: Infosys won three large contracts, valued at a combined $325 million. This bolsters its deal pipeline as enterprises increasingly focus on cost optimisation, vendor consolidation, and AI-led transformation initiatives. The largest of the three is a contract with Swedish automaker Volvo Cars, estimated to be worth around $170 million, according to industry sources.Sources said roughly half of the deal comprises net-new business, while the remainder involves consolidation of existing engagements. The scope is understood to include IT infrastructure services, SAP platform modernisation and broader digital transformation initiatives.Under the engagement, Infosys is expected to play a strategic role as a digital transformation partner, deploying AI-led solutions to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs and streamline business processes across Volvo Cars’ technology landscape.Volvo Cars already counts HCLTech among its strategic engineering services partners. The expanded partnership with HCLTech covers end-to-end engineering services delivered from its automotive centre of excellence in Gothenburg and global offshore and nearshore delivery centres. Last year, TOI reported that HCLTech was seeking to retain its position in Volvo Group’s $1-billion outsourcing contract, which had come up for renewal, with Infosys emerging as a key challenger.Emails sent to Infosys and Volvo Cars did not elicit a response till press time.Infosys has also won a contract from Valmet, the Finnish engineering and technology company. Industry sources estimate the deal value at around $100 million. As a part of this engagement, Infosys will modernize Valmet’s core IT services to enhance operational efficiency and enable closer alignment between IT operations and business prioritiesAdditionally, the Bengaluru-based firm reportedly secured a $51 million contract from the Hong Kong Jockey Club, one of Hong Kong’s largest non-profit organisations and the operator of horse racing and betting activities in the territory.According to documents reviewed by TOI, Infosys’ five-year roadmap for one of the engagements focuses on expanding its role from a traditional IT services provider to a strategic transformation partner. The plan envisages a shift from time-and-materials contracts to outcome-based engagements, greater use of SLA-driven performance metrics, participation in business and IT transformation initiatives, vendor consolidation, and the expansion of global delivery capabilities through offshore and nearshore centres. The three wins together strengthen Infosys’ large-deal momentum and underscore growing client demand for transformation programmes that combine operational efficiency, platform modernisation and AI-driven innovation.
