Prayagraj: A 38- year-old man, identified as Shah Mohammad alias Alam, was arrested by police on Sunday night on the charges of killing his wife Shabnam (35) inside the house at Begum Bazar locality under the limits of Puramufti police station.The accused, as per police, had allegedly strangled her wife to death after being suspicious over her illicit relationship. Police said Shabnam was married to Alam about 10 years back and had two kids. The accused husband, a labourer by profession, had doubts over her wife’s character. It was alleged that the husband strangled his wife to death on Saturday night and escaped. The brother of the slain woman has lodged an FIR against the husband.
