Exclusive – Priya Thakur opens up on fans loving Vasudha; says ‘Authenticity Is Her Biggest Strength, I Try To Not Fake Anything’
Priya Thakur, who is currently seen playing the lead role in Vasudha, has been winning over the viewers with her honest and warm portrayal of Vasudha. Priya has now opened up on the appreciation she is getting from the fans, how she prepares for the scenes and the one sequence which she enjoyed performing the most.Speaking about what she keeps in mind while performing a scene, Priya shared that she likes to keep her performances as real as possible. “I don’t prepare much for my scenes as I try to keep things as real as possible. I keep in mind that the main theme of the scene should not be lost anywhere. What is the basic concept, and why are we doing this scene? If there was a girl in real life like Vasudha, what would she think, what would she feel?” she shared.The actress added that she never tries to make her performance look extraordinary. Instead, her only focus is to make every emotion feel genuine for the audience. “I just try to be real and not fake anything. I don’t try to do anything extraordinary. I just want to deliver it to my audience genuinely,” Priya said.She also said that learning her lines well helps her to feel more confident and perform better. “For that, I read my lines well. If I remember my lines well, I will be able to perform well because there will be no stress about what my lines are. So I see the whole graph of the scene, and then I go and perform,” she added.When asked if any sequence in Vasudha had tested her as an actor, Priya admitted that she doesn’t really look at scenes as challenges. “Actually, I don’t see any sequence as a challenge for me because I’ve inherited Vasudha in a very good way in my life and in my craft, so I don’t feel it is a challenge,” she said.However, she believes certain scenes require extra preparation. “There is always pressure that if there is a tough scene, I try to perform it better and prepare for it more. No scene is emotionally challenging for me because I think I can perform well in any emotional scene or any such circumstances,” she explained.Interestingly, Priya revealed that dialogue-heavy scenes are tougher for her than emotional ones because they leave little room for improvisation.“If there are some scenes where I just have to speak, and that too when I’ve to explain anything or tell someone’s history, that is a bit challenging for me because I have to speak word-for-word, or there is no scope for improvisation,” she said.While she doesn’t consider any sequence particularly challenging, one scene remains her personal favourite from a performance point of view.“There was a sequence where Vasudha consumes poison. I liked that sequence when I was talking to Babu Sa. When I told him that I fell in love with Dev sir for the first time, Babu Sa said that you can’t love him as you are the driver’s daughter. And Vasudha takes poison. I liked that scene, performance-wise. But I won’t say that it was challenging. I had read it very well, so I did it very easily,” Priya concluded.
