NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old woman was allegedly sexually harassed inside a moving car in east Delhi’s Mandawali area earlier this month. The accused has been apprehended, police said. Police said that the incident dates back to June 17, when the woman told police that the man, who was known to her, allegedly lured her out on the pretext of going to eat momos. He later said he needed to refill CNG before allegedly driving the vehicle to a deserted stretch instead. She further alleged that the man made obscene remarks, sought sexual favours, touched her inappropriately and stopped her from getting out of the car. She claimed to have recorded the incident on her mobile phone during the alleged assault.Police have registered an FIR under sections of the BNS at the Mandawali police station and apprehended the accused.(The victim’s identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
