CTET 2026 September registration window closes today

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the registration window for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 today. Candidates who wish to become eligible to teach Classes 1 to 8 in government schools can apply through the official website at ctet.nic.in.The board has not yet announced the examination date for the CTET 2026 September session. The date and timing of the examination are expected to be announced soon.Earlier, the CTET 2026 application window had closed on June 10. However, following requests from candidates who could not complete their applications, the CBSE reopened the registration facility.

CTET 2026 application fee

Candidates belonging to the General and Other Backward Classes Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) categories have to pay Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers.Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates have to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both papers.

CTET 2026: How to apply

Candidates can follow the steps given below to complete their registration:

  1. Visit the official website at ctet.nic.in.
  2. Click on the link to apply for CTET 2026.
  3. A new page will open on the screen.
  4. Click on the new registration option.
  5. Read the acknowledgement and proceed further.
  6. Fill in the application form and upload the required documents.
  7. Pay the applicable application fee.
  8. Submit the application form.
  9. Download and save the submitted application for future reference.

CTET 2026 exam pattern

The CTET 2026 question paper will have 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) carrying a total of 150 marks.There will be no negative marking in the examination. Candidates will receive one mark for every correct answer.Candidates who have not yet completed their registration should apply before the application facility closes today. They are advised to check the official website regularly for updates on the examination date and other details.
