NEW DELHI: BJP alleged Tuesday that AAP was like a “thug gang” and demanded the resignation of CM Bhagwant Mann after a man died by suicide, allegedly following pressure from AAP functionaries to apologise for questioning minister Harpal Singh Cheema over the drug menace in his village.BJP played a video of Gulzar Singh, a man belonging to a Scheduled Caste who consumed pesticide, narrating the incident and the pressure brought to bear on him after he raised the drug issue during an event attended by Cheema. Singh said his son was addicted to drugs. “After the minister left, an AAP neta, who is the sarpanch of the village, visited Gulzar Singh’s home and asked him to apologise to the minister for his remarks,” BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said.Before his death at a hospital, Singh named those who allegedly threatened him, Bhatia said, alleging, “Protector has turned predator”, and demanding Mann’s resignation.
