Professional wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known as ‘Pac’ in All Elite Wrestling and ‘Neville’ during his WWE run, has died at the age of 40.All Elite Wrestling announced Satterley’s death on Sunday night. The promotion did not disclose a cause of death or provide details about the circumstances surrounding his passing.In a statement, AEW said: “All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.”“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history,” The promotion added.Satterley’s death comes shortly after his final wrestling appearance. He competed at AEW All Out in Chicago on September 26, where he challenged Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship. Andrade retained the title after countering Pac’s Brutalizer submission into a pin.At present, there is no confirmed information about the cause or circumstances of Satterley’s death.Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, on August 22, 1986, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004. He established himself on the British independent circuit before expanding his career internationally, including a significant stint in Japan with Dragon Gate.He eventually joined WWE in 2012 and was introduced to NXT audiences as ‘Adrian Neville’. Neville became one of the prominent performers of the early NXT era, winning the NXT Tag Team Championship and later the NXT Championship. His reign as NXT champion lasted 286 days, from February to December 2014. He was called ‘The Man Gravity Forgot’ for his high-flying maneuvers and became a fan favoruite for his signature move – ‘The Red Arrow ’-a spectacular 450° splash performed from the top rope.Neville moved to WWE’s main roster in 2015 and later became a major figure in the company’s cruiserweight division. He won the WWE Cruiserweight Championship twice and was billed as the ‘King of the Cruiserweights’.After leaving WWE in 2018, Satterley returned to the name Pac and resumed his international career, including another run with Dragon Gate. He signed with AEW in 2019 as one of the promotion’s early major signings.In AEW, Pac became the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion, a title that was later renamed the AEW International Championship. He also won the AEW World Trios Championship with Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix as part of Death Triangle, and later became associated with the Death Riders.Across more than two decades in professional wrestling, Satterley built a reputation for his aerial offence, athleticism and high-risk style, competing in Britain, Japan, the United States and other international wrestling markets before establishing himself in WWE and AEW.
