Bengaluru youth killed in road accident in Ponnampet taluk | Mysuru News
Madikeri: Two youth died and three youths were injured in a road accident in Devarapur gram panchayat limits of Ponnampet taluk of South Kodagu on Sunday. The injured are undergoing treatment in a Mysuru hospital, police said.The deceased youth were identified as Gogul, 20, and Chetan, 19, from Banashankari in Bengaluru. Srishaila, Nagendra and Chinmayi were injured and were being treated at a hospital, police said.A group of youth, who left Bengaluru at 10.30 pm on Saturday, were heading to Munnar-a tourist destination-in Kerala in their car. The car collided head-on with a petrol tanker going from Gonikoppal to Mysuru at 6.30am on Sunday near the Thithimathi-Devarapura Junction.

Virajpet DSP Mahesh Kumar and Gonikoppal CPI Shivaraj Mudhol visited the spot. The bodies of the deceased youths were taken to Gonikoppal Govt Hospital.In the evening, the family members of the deceased reached the hospital and, after the postmortem, the bodies were handed over to them.
