Paytm Payments Bank: Delhi high court orders winding up of Paytm Payments Bank
MUMBAI: Delhi high court has ordered the winding up of Paytm Payments Bank, weeks after RBI cancelled its banking licence citing concerns over its operations and management.The court, through orders dated July 8 and July 22, 2026, directed that Paytm Payments Bank be wound up under provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, read with the Companies Act, 2013.It also appointed Girikumar M Nair, former chief general manager of State Bank of India, as the official liquidator. RBI had on April 24 cancelled the bank’s licence with immediate effect.
