Actor Rajesh Sharma is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kolkata after reportedly suffering a suspected insect bite during the shooting of an upcoming film starring Prabhas at Ramoji Film City. The latest update, shared on behalf of the actor and his family, states that he continues to remain under close medical observation as doctors monitor his condition.Actress Sudipa Chatterjee posted a detailed statement on social media to inform fans about Sharma’s health. The note explained that the incident took place while the actor was working on the film.The statement read, “Rajesh Sharma suffered an insect bite- possibly from a bug or a poisonous spider- while shooting at Ramoji Film City for a film starring renowned actor Prabhas.”The family has not confirmed the exact insect responsible for the bite. However, the statement suggested that it may have been caused by either a bug or a poisonous spider.
Symptoms worsened after the shoot
According to the note, Rajesh Sharma was interacting with local technicians in an area covered with dense vegetation when he felt something bite him. As the injury did not appear serious at first, he continued with the shoot and completed his work.The situation reportedly changed a few hours later.The note stated, “Approximately six hours later, he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg and felt unwell. Despite his worsening condition, he boarded a flight back to Kolkata.” During the journey, the actor reportedly developed a high fever and started feeling increasingly uncomfortable. After reaching Kolkata, he sought immediate medical attention and was admitted to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Doctors continue treatment
Rajesh Sharma is currently receiving treatment at Manipal Hospital in Dhakuria. According to the latest medical update, he continues to experience breathing difficulties while doctors closely monitor the infection. As reported by Free Press journal, the statement revealed that the infection has spread rapidly in his right leg. It added, “The infection has spread from his toes up to his knee, with large blisters developing over the affected area.” Doctors are carrying out all necessary investigations and treatment to stabilise his condition. The family also shared that the actor remains under constant observation. The statement further noted that Rajesh Sharma is “not yet out of danger.” It also mentioned that another health update will be issued after doctors assess his progress. Rajesh Sharma has built a successful career spanning more than two decades across Hindi and Bengali cinema.Apart from films, he has also been a familiar face on television with appearances in popular shows.
