2 absconding accused held in separate cases
Police have arrested two persons who had been absconding by not appearing before court in separate cases reported at the Mangaluru South and Belthangady police stations, respectively

Mangaluru: Police have arrested two persons who had been absconding by not appearing before court in separate cases reported at the Mangaluru South and Belthangady police stations, respectively.City police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy said the CCB team of the Mangaluru City police arrested a 40-year-old man who had been evading court proceedings in connection with a 2013 robbery case registered at the Mangaluru South police station. The arrested person is Mohammad Tousif from Manjeshwar, Kasaragod district of Keralam.A case under Section 392 of the IPC was registered against Tousif at Mangaluru South police station. The second CJM court issued a Long Pending Case (LPC) warrant against Tousif after he failed to appear before the court during the proceedings and subsequently absconded. The CCB officers and personnel arrested him from Farangipete on Saturday based on the warrant and he was subsequently handed over to the Mangaluru South police station. The court has remanded him in judicial custody till Sept 13, the commissioner said.In another case, Belthangady police have arrested a man who had been absconding for several years after failing to appear before the court. The police team succeeded in arresting Denny Joseph alias Antony, a resident of Kannur, Keralam, in connection with a case registered in 2014. Belthangady police had registered a case under Sections 354(B), 323, 324, 504 and 506 of the IPC against him, said SP Arun K.Police personnel Muniya Naik and Manu Naik of Belthangady police station arrested him in Kannur, Keralam on Friday. He was remanded in judicial custody by a court.
