NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death by a group of four to five assailants in Mangolpuri’s N Block on Wednesday evening. The victim, identified as Akash, was chased by the group and subjected to a brutal knife attack before the perpetrators fled the scene.The entire incident was captured on CCTV.Akash, a resident of I Block who worked at a food cart with his father, was reportedly with friends at a nearby park when the confrontation began. Police received a call around 7 pm and arrived to find Akash lying in a pool of blood. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.The one-minute CCTV footage captures a frantic chase, culminating in the moments Akash was cornered and repeatedly stabbed at a residential entrance. While several bystanders witnessed the assault, none initially intervened. It was only as the group fled that an elderly man emerged from his home with a stick to confront them, but the assailants managed to escape. Investigators noted that Akash attempted to seek refuge in a nearby house, but was intercepted at the gate and stabbed roughly a dozen times. The attackers then dragged him back into the lane to continue the assault before fleeing the scene.
