Kamalamma, Tamannah Bhatia and Veerappan
Myself Kamalamma from Kunjibettu in Udupi.
What to tell you!
Few days back early morning, I am opening our front door and looking outside and who is looking back at me? Tamanaah Bhatia, that Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood whatever-wood heroine! I am shouting, Woooah, Tamannah Bhatia! And the Mister who is shaving in the bathroom is cutting off half his moustache in hurry and rushing out to see famous Bahubali heroine at our door.
Where, where, he is shouting and I am showing him newspaper, which is lying outside on doorstep, with advertisement for Mysore Sandal, the famous soap from our Karnataka. There is full front-page ad with Tamannah emerging out of river like Mohini emerging out of ocean during Samudra Manthana. She is looking beautiful, but the Mister is looking disappointed and I am saying, ohoho, you are expecting Bhatia baby on our doorstep or what, why you are looking sad like Asuras when Mohini is not giving them amrith.
Now you people will ask why so much reaction over one newspaper ad? Because it is confirmation that Tamannah akka is official model for Mysore Sandal Soap. After so much controversy and tamasha. See, this soap was first made during the time of Krishna Raja Wodeyar IV, the King of Mysore and it is iconic product of our Karnataka, and Karnataka government is selecting Tamanaah Bhatia as brand ambassador and all citizens and netizens from Karnataka are saying, why take model from outside our state and whether there are no options within our state itself?
Matter is going up to Karnataka assembly even, and I am thinking oho, maybe Tamannah akka will be rejected as brand ambassador and position will open up for other people. God knows what is the criteria for selection of model, but in Kamalamma’s humble opinion there is no better model for Mysore sandal soap than Kamalamma … and maybe her Mister also!
Why, because we two are ticking all the boxes. First of all, we are from Karnataka. We are Kannada-speaking and we are not going around Bengaluru saying Kannad gothilla Kannad gothilla. So what if we two are not beautiful like Apsara or Manmatha but we are too much loyal to Mysore sandal company from so many years. In our house from our grand-parents to our great grand-parents time also maybe, we are only using products of this company – Mysore sandal soap, Mysore sandal powder, Mysore sandal scent, Mysore sandal agarbatti, even Mysore sandal face pack, which Kamalamma is putting on her face every Sunday afternoon.
I don’t know about our previous generations, but in present generation when the Mister is taking bath, he is splashing soap lather all over ceiling, wall, floor, mirror; and full bathroom is smelling of sandalwood. Then after this great sandal bath, he is emptying half dabba of sandalwood powder on himself and other half on the floor so that it is becoming full slippery and we are gliding across bedroom like ice skaters in winter Olympics.
And that sandalwood perfume, ohohoho, full body spray is happening from head to toe and we both are going around house smelling like one sandalwood forest, and I am thinking if Veerappan, that sandalwood smuggler was alive now, 100 % he would kidnap both of us. And I am asking the Mister who will pay million-dollar ransom to rescue us.
Not only this, when we are visiting our friends, we are gifting them pack-of-3 Mysore sandal soap and we are giving all guests coming to our house also only Mysore sandal soap as return gifts. We are making wholesale purchase direct from factory itself and I am thinking 100% company is running because of Kamalamma and her Mister only.
So, now you people tell me, who is best option for brand ambassador for this company!
Maybe they will reject the Mister because now he is having only half a moustache but until it grows back there is no doubt that Kamalamma is perfect for the job.
Abbabba!
