Drunk guest worker dies after falling off building in Coimbatore | Coimbatore News
Coimbatore: A drunk guest worker died after he fell off the terrace of a building near Avarampalayam here on Thursday evening.The deceased, identified as S Lakhim Harijhan, 23, of Nowrangpur in Odisha, worked at a travel firm in Siddhapudur. Police said Lakhim had worked as a loadman in the parcel service department of the firm for the past two weeks. On Thursday afternoon, he went out and returned to his house in Avarampalayam in an inebriated state.Later, he went to the terrace of the one-storey building. He slipped and fell off the building. The manager of the firm, M Daniel, 32, who is also staying in the same place, saw Lakhim lying unconscious on the ground. He informed the 108 ambulance service. Ambulance staff members examined Lakhim and declared him dead. Daniel informed Peelamedu police about the incident.Police reached the spot and sent the body to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for postmortem. They registered a case and began investigations.
