Ram Charan shares what Chiranjeevi told him about ‘Peddi’; says, ‘Films like this normally take a decade’
Ram Charan will be seen in and as ‘Peddi’ in the upcoming action and emotion entertainer directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The makers recently unveiled the trailer of the film in Mumbai where the actor spoke about his journey with the movie he has been working on for 2 years. The ‘RRR’ star shared how the story, emotions and the physical work behind the role made this film very special for him.
Ram Charan talks about when Buchi Babu Sana narrated ‘Peddi’
Ram Charan said he still remembers the day Buchi Babu Sana narrated the story to him at his house. He revealed that the narration went on for nearly two hours and forty minutes and he had no words after hearing it. “I remember in my house, he was going by one by one reading and two hour, 40 minutes, I didn’t have anything to say. I just got up and we started this journey,” he said.The actor also said he knew from the beginning that the role would be physically very hard, but he believed the effort was worth it because of the strong story.
‘Peddi’ is a story about identity
Talking about the film’s theme, Ram Charan explained that ‘Peddi’ is about a man searching for his identity. He said every person needs an identity in life and the film shows the struggles of a man facing an identity crisis.He also shared that the character becomes a crossover athlete for a larger reason and goes through a lot of pain during the journey. According to him, the emotions in the film are deeply connected with the story.“This is about a man’s search for his identity. Everybody we all need some kind of an identity to live to go through the day. And this is about Peddi, who’s finding his identity, or identity crisis, rather. Through that, he has found an identity for a very, very big reason, very big larger cause. And what all he had to go through, the crossover athlete, why he became a crossover athlete. So what led him to do what he is, the pain in Delhi, you saw, it’s a beautifully etched film,” he said.

Ram Charan called the film organic and emotional while also being highly commercial. He said audiences of all age groups will enjoy and connect with the movie. He also added that this is the most inspiring story he has done in his career till now.

The actor revealed that his father and Tollywood Megastar, Chiranjeevi watched parts of the film and became emotional. Ram Charan said his father told him films like ‘Magadheera’ and ‘RRR’ do not happen every year. He said, “And I also believe this is the most inspiring story I have done in my life. Not just me, my dad saw part of it and he said, Ram, for anybody, to get a film like this, it normally takes a decade. Every year we can’t have a ‘Magadheera’ or ‘RRR’, it takes a while.”According to Ram Charan, Chiranjeevi told him to enjoy every moment of this journey because films like ‘Peddi’ are very rare. The actor finally said this is one film he wants to keep in his personal library forever.
