Janhvi Kapoor is playing the female lead in the upcoming Ram Charan starrer sports action drama ‘Peddi’ directed by Buchi Bana Sana. As the makers are gearing up for its theatrical release on June 4, with the trailer set to be shared on May 18, Janhvi Kapoor’s absence from the film’s promotions has become a big talking point online.
Janhvi Kapoor not part of promotions?
According to a report by Deccan Chronicle, Janhvi Kapoor may not take part in the film’s promotions. It is being said that her role in the movie is limited. It is also suggested that the makers gave her the choice to decide if she wanted to join the promotions or not. In addition to it, the ‘Devera’ actress reportedly decided to stay away because she did not want audiences to expect a bigger role in the film. However, neither Janhvi Kapoor nor the makers of ‘Peddi’ have officially confirmed these reports yet.There are also reports saying Janhvi agreed to do the film because she was paid more than what she usually gets for Hindi films.In the film, Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead, Achiyamma. Makers have released her look from the film in the songs, including a soulful ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ and the energetic dance track ‘Rai Rai Raa Raa’.

Meanwhile, the director of the film, Buchi Babu Sana, recently revealed that he first pitched the role of Achiyyamma to Janhvi’s sister, Khushi, but thought she was too young for the role while speaking with media outlet M9.He said, “I initially narrated the film to Khushi Kapoor. But once I saw her in person, I realised that she’s too young for this character. Now, imagine when I have to reject Khushi and give narration to Janhvi in the same home. I felt bad and asked Janhvi if Khushi didn’t take offence.”
About ‘Peddi’
Speaking of ‘Peddi’, the film is a sports action drama, set in Andhra Pradesh and tells the story of a villager who brings people together through sports. It also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani in key roles.
