NEW DELHI: Social media influencer and dermatologist Dr Neelam Singh, popularly known online as “The Skin Doctor”, was granted bail after being arrested by Delhi Police over alleged social media posts targeting the Kapur family following the death of businessman Sunjay Kapur.According to police sources, a complaint was filed at Vasant Kunj Police Station on behalf of the Kapur family, accusing the influencer of posting objectionable content related to Sunjay Kapur’s death.Acting on the complaint, Delhi Police arrested Dr Neelam Singh late Wednesday night before he was later granted bail.Dr Neelam Singh, a dermatologist with a significant following on social media, runs accounts under the name “The Skin Doctor”.His Instagram bio describes her as “a socio-politically aware dermatologist”. Apart from skin and healthcare-related content, she is also known for commenting on political and social issues.The arrest comes amid an escalating legal battle within the Kapur family over Sunjay Kapur’s estate and will.On Tuesday, Sunjay Kapur’s mother approached the Supreme Court with a fresh plea seeking directions to restrain Priya Sachdev Kapur and certain others from interfering in the functioning of the “RK Family Trust” until mediation proceedings initiated by the apex court on May 7 are completed.She also sought a stay on a board meeting scheduled for May 18 by Raghuvanshi Investment Private Limited, which reportedly controls a substantial portion of the disputed family assets.The dispute, said to involve assets worth nearly Rs 30,000 crore, is continuing before the High Court, with interim orders currently preserving the estate pending final adjudication.Sunjay Kapur, chairman of Sona Comstar and former husband of Karisma Kapoor, died in London on June 12 while playing polo. Medical findings later confirmed that his death was natural and linked to cardiac-related complications.
