Lucknow: Taking cognisance of the loss of life caused by storms, heavy rainfall and lightning strikes across the state, chief minister Yogi Adityanath has placed district authorities on high alert.Conveying his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, the chief minister has issued strict instructions to officials to ensure prompt and proper medical treatment for the injured and to provide relief assistance to all affected individuals within 24 hours.Relief and rescue teams have been asked to remain continuously active in the affected areas to ensure that any emergency situation can be addressed immediately.Furthermore, district magistrates have been directed to remain in the field to continuously monitor relief and rescue operations and to ensure that no negligence is tolerated at any level.Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that the injured receive immediate and appropriate medical care. Additionally, he has mandated that the prescribed relief assistance — covering loss of human life, loss of livestock and injuries — be disbursed within 24 hours.Meanwhile, the meteorological department has issued a warning regarding the likelihood of strong storms, rainfall and lightning strikes in several districts over the next 24 hours.The administration has appealed to the public to remain indoors during adverse weather conditions and to stay away from open spaces, trees and utility poles.
