I’ve got you all a handsome maima: Rashmika Mandanna tells her extended family in Coorg | Kannada Movie News
A month after their grand destination wedding in Rajasthan, Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda returned home to Coorg for a more rooted celebration with family and close friends. The couple, accompanied by Rashmika’s parents, Madan and Suma and Vijay’s parents, Madhavi and Govardhan Rao, arrived in Mysuru on April 5 before driving down to Virajpet, where Rashmika’s family home is located. On Monday evening, Rashmika’s parents hosted an intimate dinner at Serenity Hall in Virajpet, a venue owned by the family.“The décor was simple and elegant, and Rashmika and Vijay walked in hand in hand. Both were extremely down-to-earth, mingling effortlessly and interacting with all the guests. Vijay was introduced to everyone and was gracious throughout. It was a proud moment for all of us who call Rashmika ‘nangada Modi’ (our girl),” said a guest. The couple later cut a layered cake, in keeping with local custom.
Rashmika, dressed in a traditional Kodava sari with a pathaak (thali) and kokke thaathi (customary jewellery), addressed the gathering in Kodava Thakk, thanking the community for their support and seeking blessings. “I’ve got you all a handsome maima (son-in-law),” she said with a smile, drawing loud cheers. Vijay, who also spoke a few lines in Kodava Thakk, rounded off the evening by expressing his eagerness to explore his wife’s homeland more deeply and learn about Kodava traditions.
