Bruce Springsteen’s tour with a message
According to USA Today, the March 31 concert at Target Center marks the beginning of a deliberately routed run of dates, with Springsteen opening in cities that have been heavily targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Portland follows on April 3, with Los Angeles dates on April 7 and 9, before the tour closes May 27 at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., the only stadium date on the run.The first two songs of the Land of Hope & Dreams Tour will stream for free on Springsteen’s YouTube channel, launching at 8:30 p.m. ET from Minneapolis’s Target Center.Speaking to the Minnesota Star Tribune, Springsteen made his intentions clear: “The tour is going to be political and very topical about what’s going on in the country. Minneapolis and St. Paul, that was the place I wanted to begin it, and I wanted to end it in Washington .”
The Boss: Five decades of rock and resistance
Bruce Springsteen was born on September 23, 1949, in Long Branch, New Jersey, according to IMDb. He grew up in a working-class household, and that upbringing never left his music. Decades later, songs like ‘Born to Run’, ‘Thunder Road’, ‘Dancing in the Dark’, and ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ still hit the same nerve they always did. People do not just listen to Springsteen; they feel it. That connection, built over more than fifty years on stage, is exactly why they still call him “The Boss.“
