Abhishek Sharma discharged from hospital, injury scare for Ishan Kishan | Cricket News
NEW DELHI: The Indian camp breathed a sigh of relief as opener Abhishek Sharma was discharged from hospital after suffering a bout of stomach infection. A call on his participation in Thursday’s match against Namibia will be taken on how he feels in the morning, informed Tilak Varma on Wednesday evening.
“When we reached Delhi, he went to the hospital for an examination. He has been discharged today and is doing well,” Varma said.It will be interesting to see if the Indian team will want to rush him for the Namibia match. Sanju Samson went through two days of rigorous batting sessions at the Kotla. The team management may prefer preserving Abhishek for the marquee game against Pakistan on Sunday. Meanwhile, in-form opener Ishan Kishan had an injury scare when Jasprit Bumrah’s yorker landed on his left foot during nets. Ishan hobbled out of the nets and took off his pads and shoes for the medical team to examine. However, he was back in the nets after 10 minutes and appeared to be batting pain-free.
