Rajinikanth, after ‘Jailer 2’ will be working on his next tentatively titled project ‘Thalaivar173’ directed by Cibi Chakravarthy. The film has a lot of anticipation to it as it also marks a collaboration between two Tamil veteran stars, with Kamal Haasan backing the project. Recently, Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth, called it a “deadly film”.
Soundarya Rajinikanth talks about ‘Thalaivar173’
During a pre-release event of ‘With Love’, which she is backing, Soundarya Rajinikanth talked about her father’s upcoming movie helmed by Cibi Chakravarthy, who was present at the event. As per an IANS report, she first thanked the filmmaker for coming. “Thalaivar 173 periya poruppu Cibi (Thalaivar 173 is a big responsibility Cibi.) But I have a lot of faith in you. I believe that you will live up to the trust I have in you. A deadly film will come,” she said.
Cibi Chakravarthy’s promise to fans
Director Cibi Chakravarthy also spoke on the stage. He said this was his first public meeting after the film announcement. He shared that he received many wishes, even from people he did not expect. He also said he understands the doubts of some people. With love, he made a strong promise. He said that when fans walk out of the theatre after watching ‘Thalaivar173,’ they will walk out with satisfaction. He repeated, “It’s a promise.” Rajinikanth earlier spoke about the film and said shooting would start in April. It is said to be a full commercial entertainer. Earlier, the captain of the ship or the one taking the director’s seat was Sundar C, but he took an exit. Later, Cibi Chakravarthy was announced as the director.The music will be composed by star musician Anirudh Ravichander.
Currently, Rajinikanth is working on the production of ‘Jailer 2’, which is the sequel to his 2023 superhit. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is releasing in 2026.
