The makers of Suriya‘s upcoming film ‘Scene’ have expressed their gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for allowing six shows a day for newly released films during their opening week. The decision has brought cheer to the Tamil film industry ahead of the Diwali releases, with producers and theatre owners welcoming the government’s move. The team thanked the state government for the order, calling it a major boost for the film industry and acknowledging the efforts of industry associations in making the decision possible.
‘Scene’ team thanks CM Vijay and Tamil film associations for six shows order
In an official statement, the ‘Scene’ team extended its sincere thanks to CM Vijay and Minister Rajmohan for the decision. “We are deeply grateful to the Government of Tamil Nadu for the Government Order allowing six shows a day for newly released films throughout their opening week,” the statement read. The makers also thanked the Tamil Film Active Producers Association, Tamil Film Producers Council and Tamil Nadu Theatre and Multiplex Owners Association for their efforts. The permission comes as Suriya’s ‘Scene’ and Nayanthara’s ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ prepare to reach theatres for Diwali.
‘Scene’ leads early morning 6 AM show ticket bookings ahead of Diwali
The six-show permission has also triggered a rush for early morning screenings, with ‘Scene’ witnessing a strong response to its 6 AM shows. Ticket bookings opened online following the government’s condition that special show tickets must be available through booking platforms. Suriya fans have been booking tickets in large numbers across popular Chennai theatres, including Rohini, Kasi and PVR multiplexes. The film’s early morning shows are attracting attention amid social media discussions over which Diwali release would manage to fill theatres first.
‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ faces competition as ‘Scene’ gains momentum in 6 AM bookings
Meanwhile, Nayanthara’s ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ has also opened bookings for select 6 AM shows, though its early response remains comparatively moderate. Several theatres are continuing with 9 AM screenings instead. ‘Ramayana,’ which arrives a day earlier on November 5, has secured fewer screens in Tamil Nadu and is not scheduled for 6 AM special shows. With ‘Scene’ gaining momentum in early morning bookings, the Diwali box office battle is beginning even before the films reach the big screen. The coming hours are expected to offer a clearer picture of audience interest.
