Kris Jenner has spent decades raising six children, but each of them has taught her something different about motherhood. In a podcast conversation with Jay Shetty, the reality television star and businesswoman reflected on the challenges of raising her children, the lessons she learnt from difficult pregnancies and how becoming a mother later in life made her more grateful for her family. From Kourtney Kardashian’s difficult early months to the patience she developed after experiencing miscarriages before Kendall Jenner’s birth, Jenner described how her experiences changed with each child.

Jenner said her eldest daughter, Kourtney, introduced her to the realities of motherhood. Kourtney was a colicky baby, and Jenner recalled the long nights spent trying to make her comfortable. “Kourtney taught me probably how to be a mom,” Jenner told Shetty. She remembered how difficult it was to see her baby struggle with an upset stomach for months. “And you would do anything to make her life better and have her feel better,” she said. Despite the challenges, Jenner said the experience did not put her off having more children.

Jenner described her son, Rob Kardashian, as “a joy”. Jenner said her experience of pregnancy changed before she welcomed Kendall. She had experienced two miscarriages, which challenged her earlier assumption that having another child would be straightforward. “Kendall, I think, taught me a lot about patience and serenity because I had two miscarriages before I had Kendall,” she said. “You think you’re invincible. I’m just going to pop out another baby, and then you don’t, and it becomes a bit of a struggle,” she added.Jenner had Kendall at the age of 40.
