Bigg Boss 20: Mahhi Vij breaks down while discussing single motherhood and alimony during divorce with Jay Bhanushali; says ‘Judge mujhe bolta raha…’
In the latest episode of Bigg Boss 20, actress Mahhi Vij was seen breaking down in tears as she opened up about being a single mom. She got emotional after a fight with Arishfa Khan. Mahhi was seen discussing her daughter Tara, financial independence and her decision to refuse alimony from Jay Bhanushali during their divorce proceedings.Mahhi was talking to Aasif Khan and YUNG DSA when she became emotional while speaking about her daughter, Tara and raising her on her own. She also spoke about her decision to build a secure future for her daughter independently.The actress revealed that the judge asked her four times to take alimony during her divorce proceedings with estranged husband Jay Bhanushali, but she refused, saying that the money was his hard-earned money.During the emotional conversation, Mahhi revealed how her life revolves only around her daughter and how she wants to ensure Tara’s future is secure.She shared, “I am a single mother. I know how my day goes. Jay pushes me to go out and live my life. He says, ‘You go out, you don’t go anywhere. You sit at home for Tara’. My life revolves around my child. Do you know? I did not take a single alimony. I do everything on my own so that my child’s life is secure.”Mahhi further shared that she was offered alimony during her divorce proceedings but chose not to accept it, as she felt the money came from Jay’s hard work.
Mahhi Vij on refusing to ask for alimony
“But still, I don’t ask for money from anyone, neither Jay. I think it’s his hard earned money. I was standing in the court , and the judge asked me four times to take the alimony. I didn’t take it. I have seen Jay has earned it,” she said.She clarified that her decision was not because Jay did not support her, but because she felt he had worked hard to earn his money.“Not that he has asked me not to take anything. I know his entire locker is open for me. But still. I don’t think so. He has worked hard. He has been standing on sets, working for 16 hours. It’s his hard-earned money,” she added.For the uninitiated, Mahhi got emotional after she had a clash with Arishfa Khan as the Sehar Hone Ko Hai actress supported Qazi Touqeer during her fight with him. Arishfa was hurt as Mahhi made remarks against her upbringing. This did not go down well with Arishfa, who questioned her and also called her out dragging her mother into the fight.
