AI can plan your holiday in seconds. But can it actually plan a trip that works?
The itinerary looks almost too good to be true. Breakfast at one place, a famous museum after lunch, sunset at another landmark and dinner across town, all neatly arranged by a chatbot in seconds. Then comes the reality check: the museum is closed that day, the transfer takes twice as long as expected, or the activity costs more than the budget you gave the AI.
That is the strange new reality of planning a holiday with artificial intelligence. AI can research destinations, compare options and build an itinerary before you have even opened a travel website.
So while AI is becoming a powerful travel-planning tool, the question is no longer simply whether it can build an itinerary. It is whether that itinerary can actually work once you leave home.
In an interaction with Times of India, Chirag Agarwal, Co-founder, TravClan explains what travellers are using AI for, where AI-generated itineraries can fall short and why human judgement still matters when a holiday moves from a chatbot to the real world.
