3 held for entering Mumbai mall with firearm; police rule out link to PM Modi event | India News
NEW DELHI: Three men allegedly used a suspicious government identity card to gain entry into Jio World Plaza in Mumbai’s BKC area, forcing their way past mall security while one of them was carrying a firearm, Mumbai Police said.An FIR was registered at BKC Police Station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including those related to impersonation of a public servant and unlawful entry while armed with a weapon.The Crime Branch is conducting further investigation into the incident, which took place on Monday, police said. The weapon was found to be licensed, and three people have been detained.The two arrested accused have been identified as Rohan Premal Parikh, 24, and Dilip Raja Kunde, 49, as cited by ANI. A court has remanded them to police custody until September 11.PM Modi is scheduled to attend the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai, where he will inaugurate the seventh edition of one of the world’s largest and most influential annual fintech conferences.
