Variety reported that during the filming of ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’ the actor came across the islands and bought them for USD 3.6 million. While talking about them, Depp later told the magazine, “As soon as I saw it, I immediately thought, ‘Wow.'” The islands span 45 acres and sit directly on the Exuma line.Calling it his great escape, the actor further shared, “I don’t think I’d ever seen any place so pure and beautiful. You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It’s instant freedom.” He also revealed in the interview that he spends a lot of time on the islands indulging in his hobbies, which include reading, playing guitar, and painting.

Not only that, but the islands feature a ranch-style main house that provides its residents with an amazing 360-degree view of the surrounding area. Other private structures throughout the island include a bamboo yurt, a beach house, and a circular roundhouse suite especially made for guests.
About the six private beaches and their names
Depp’s islands in the Bahamas have a special feature of their own. After buying them out, the actor named each of the islands after people he loved and cared for in his circle. The first island is named Gonzo Beach, after his friend and iconic author Hunter S. Thompson. The second island is called Brando Beach, named after his mentor Marlon Brando.There are also Lily-Rose & Jack Beaches, named after his children, along with a Vanessa Beach, named after his long-term partner, Vanessa Paradis. Lastly, there is also Amber’s Cove, which he named during his relationship with Amber Heard. Johnny Depp and Amber Heard finalised their divorce in January 2017.

The boat’s full name is a mash-up of his partner Paradis’ name, his name, and their children Lily Rose and Jack’s names. The yacht flies the Jolly Roger flag along with its Marshall Islands flag and has many pirate themes onboard. Depp spent another USD 8 million on this boat to have it specially made to his liking.On the work front, the actor is all set to appear on the big screen in November this year, just in time for Christmas.
