Ambala rail division nets over Rs 2cr in fines; top performers honoured
Ambala Division ticket-checking staff generate Rs 2.13 crore revenue; 15 top performers honoured

Ambala: Northern Railway’s Ambala division generated around Rs 2.13 crore from 33,071 ticket-checking cases between April and July, prompting officials to honour 15 top-performing employees on Friday.Divisional railway manager Vinod Kumar Bhatia presented the awards during a ceremony at the DRM office in Ambala, recognising staff for revenue generation, digital payment promotion and passenger service.Ten ticket-checking staff were commended for exceptional revenue recovery. Simranjit Singh led the division, generating 48.83 lakh from 7,395 cases during 100 days of squad duty. While Amit Suri (Saharanpur) generated around Rs 39.48 lakh from 7,032 cases, Vijay Pal (Ambala) followed with Rs 33.93 lakh from 4,481 cases.Four employees were recognised for driving digital payment adoption via Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) and Passenger Reservation System (PRS) platforms between April and June. Satish Kumar recorded the division‘s highest digital collection share at 74%. Commercial inspector Vipin Paudwal received a special commendation for assisting passengers stranded during a recent landslide.
