Govinda and Sunita Ahuja are back in the news, though not for the best reasons, as an old interview clip has resurfaced online following Sunita’s decision to withdraw the divorce case against the ‘Hero No. 1’ actor. In the clip, Govinda, seated beside Sunita, is heard recalling a warning his mother once gave him, never to cheat on or leave his wife.

Govinda recalls his mother’s warning and love for Sunita

Speaking to Bollywood Bubble in this old interview, Govinda shared a piece of advice his mother had once given him. He shared, “Unhone mujhe bola ki agar tune ise dhokha diya toh tu bheekh mangega. (She told me that if you ditch her or betray her, then you will beg for your living.)” He went on to reminisce about how much his mother adored Sunita “My mom used to call her the Laxmi of our house, and it is true as well because since the day she entered my house and my life, we have never looked back,” he added.

Sunita’s divorce case and manager’s clarification

For months now, Sunita and Govinda’s marriage has been the subject of speculation, especially after reports emerged that she had moved to file for divorce. As per a Hindustan Times report, Sunita filed a divorce petition back in December 2024 under the Hindu Marriage Act, citing adultery, cruelty and desertion. However, Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, has since confirmed that Sunita has withdrawn the case, adding that things are now fine between the couple. “Sab log darr kyu rahe hai. Sunita ji ne apna case wapas liya hai. Yeh toh khush hone ki baat hai,” Sinha said. He also addressed Sunita’s angry appearance outside the court, explaining, “Woh itne gusse mein nazar aayi toh sabko laga hoga kuch problem hui, par ab sab theek hai dono mein.”

Sunita has, on multiple occasions, raised questions about Govinda’s equation with his ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’ co-star Komal Rani Swarnkar. After the two were spotted together recently, Sunita didn’t hold back, saying, “Picture banna bhi toh chaiye. Promotion hota hai picture banne ke baad. Kya bolne ka… Beti ki umar ki ladki ko leke ghum raha hai, sharam toh aana chaiye thoda isko. Aur standard toh hona chaiye. Tumhara sugar daddy itna ameer hai, kapde toh dhang ke pehno. Humlog ko dekho kya style mein chalte hai. Very bad, he’s lost his mind.”
