After a day of conversations, masterclasses and insights into the changing creator landscape, the UP Creators Summit and Awards enters its second and final day in Varanasi today, August 20. If Day 1 focused on the craft and responsibilities of being a creator, Day 2 takes a wider look at the creator economy: its growth, its economic potential and its role in shaping Uttar Pradesh’s digital identity.On day one, creators and industry voices came together for conversations around storytelling, finding a niche and creating content responsibly. Actor and comedian Sunil Grover delved into the craft of storytelling in a fireside chat, while stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral’s masterclass looked into the responsibilities that come with having a digital audience. Author Akshat Gupta, meanwhile, spoke about the importance of finding a distinctive creative voice rather than simply following trends.Day 2: From the creator economy to the new age of stardomThe second day shifts the conversation from individual creators to the larger ecosystem developing around them. The morning will feature three panel discussions looking at how Uttar Pradesh is emerging as an important part of India’s creator economy.The first panel, ‘Heartland to Headline: How Uttar Pradesh Became a Creator Economy Powerhouse’, will explore the rise of creators from the state and how digital platforms are giving voices from beyond traditional media centres a larger audience.It is scheduled from 10 am to 10:30 am.This will be followed by ‘The Creator Economy as Economic Development: Can Influencers Drive Jobs, Tourism & Entrepreneurship?’ from 10:30 am to 11 am. The discussion will look beyond followers and views to examine whether creators can contribute to employment, tourism, entrepreneurship and local economies.The third panel, ‘Blurring the Lines: Actors, Creators & the New Age of Stardom’, will take place from 11 am to 11:30 am.What does stardom look like in a world where audiences can engage with personalities directly online? As the lines between traditional celebrities and digital creators are becoming more and more blurred, the session will discuss.The spotlight turns to the creatorsThe day will culminate with the UP Creators Awards, celebrating creators across categories including education, technology, finance, food, travel, lifestyle, comedy, fashion, gaming and social impact.The awards reflect how far the creator economy has moved beyond entertainment.
