Ramgarh: A daylong workshop on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was organised at Town Hall in Ramgarh on Monday by Jharkhand State Health Authority as part of efforts to develop the district as a model one for digital health adoption under Digital India Mission. The workshop was inaugurated by Sunil Kumar Barnwal, chief executive officer (CEO) of National Health Authority (NHA), Jharkhand.Barnwal said an integrated digital health ecosystem under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is being developed in Jharkhand and Ramgarh has been selected as the state’s model district for the initiative. The programme aims to ensure that every citizen has a unique Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID linked to their health records.“ABHA patients would not need to carry health files and doctors could access health history with consent. This will reduce delays, especially during emergencies, for chronic patients and while travelling to other cities and states, as people generally do not carry their medical files,” Barnwal said.Announcing Ramgarh’s inclusion in the Model District Initiative under ABDM, Jharkhand, Barnwal said one district from each state has been selected to accelerate adoption of the digital health mission. He said the programme would prioritise 100% ABHA saturation, onboarding of all public and private health facilities and paperless outpatient department (OPD) services across the district.“Our target is that every hospital, clinic, lab and pharmacy in Ramgarh gets linked with ABDM shortly. Ramgarh will be showcased as a model district in the state,” Barnwal added.Master trainers conducted demonstrations on ABHA creation, health facility registration, health professional registry and QR code-based paperless registration during the workshop. Doctors, paramedical staff and auxiliary nurse midwives (ANMs) from across the district participated.Ramgarh deputy commissioner Rituraj said the district administration would extend full support to achieve the objectives of the model district digital health initiative. He added that ABDM camps would be organised in all blocks and panchayats to accelerate registrations under the drive. “We are happy to announce that 75% saturation has already been achieved in the district,” he said.
