Pascal Wehrlein and Mitch Evans in top five, but Jake Dennis starts among backmarkers
The Formula E World Championship grand finale in London is set to be an absolute nail-biter, as confirmed by the results of the Round 17 qualifying session held on Sunday. While Mahindra Racing drivers Nyck de Vries and Edoardo Mortara grabbed the front row in London E-Prix qualifying, current championship leader Pascal Wehrlein took third place on the grid. His closest rival in the title race, Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing, is behind him in fifth, while their third title contender, Jake Dennis, was left far behind among the backmarkers. The Andretti driver will now be hoping for a disruption to return to the title race.
London E-Prix: Mahindra Racing grabs front row, Pascal Wehrlein to start from third
The Round 17 race on Sunday will bring down the curtain on Season 12 of the Formula E World Championship. Pascal Wehrlein of Porsche is currently leading the title race after winning in London a day earlier. However, Jaguar’s Mitch Evans is just five points behind him and will be starting the race two positions behind him.The starting grid for Sunday’s grand finale will have Mahindra Racing’s Nyck de Vries on pole position, followed by Edoardo Mortara alongside him on the front row. Jaguar’s António Félix da Costa has taken ninth place, while Envision Racing driver Sébastien Buemi will start tenth on the grid.
