Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt’s international action thriller ‘7 Dogs’ is finally set to release in Indian theatres. Salman announced that the film, directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, will arrive in India on August 21. The two Bollywood stars feature in cameo roles, while Karim Abdel-Aziz and Ahmed Ezz headline the film. Following its release across the Middle East earlier this year, 7 Dogs will now bring its crime-action story and much-anticipated Salman-Sanjay reunion to Indian audiences.

Last year, fans got their first look at Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt in the film’s teaser. The latter appeared within the first minute, holding a gun pointed at someone with a menacing expression. Khan featured in the latter half of the teaser, dressed in a pinstripe suit and flashing a cunning smile. With the India release date now confirmed, fans of both actors have reason to be excited.
What is the plot of ‘7 Dogs’?
According to Variety, the film follows an Interpol officer named Khalid Al-Azzazi, who arrests Ghali Abu Dawood, a senior figure in a global crime syndicate called ‘7 Dogs’. A year later, when the syndicate resurfaces to traffic a new drug called Pink Lady across the Middle East, Khalid is forced to team up with Ghali, the only person who understands the group’s inner workings.

While Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt appear in cameo roles, the film’s leads are Karim Abdel-Aziz and Ahmed Ezz. The project is produced by Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority. Reports suggest Salman and Sanjay were cast in cameos due to their close ties with the producer. The duo travelled to Riyadh in February last year for a three-day shooting schedule.Fans are especially excited about Salman and Sanjay Dutt sharing screen space again, having previously worked together in films like ‘Saajan’ (1991), ‘Chal Mere Bhai’ (2000) and ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ (2002). Their on-screen chemistry has always been popular with audiences. Last year, the two also reunited for ‘Old Money,’ a track by Indo-Canadian rapper Dhillon that combined Bollywood nostalgia with modern Punjabi music.
