‘You’re not to decide who comes to my house’: Abhijeet Dipke’s fiery showdown with cop caught on camera | Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar News
CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: A video showing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke confronting a police sub-inspector (PSI) outside his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has gone viral.Dipke is seen objecting to the officer’s alleged behaviour towards visitors and questioning the police presence outside his home.In the video, Dipke can be heard telling the officer, “You are not one to decide, sir.”He then speaks in Marathi, questioning who the police are to decide who can come to his house and who cannot. “Who are you to decide who comes to my house and who doesn’t? You police officers have caused me a lot of trouble,” he said.Dipke alleged that police personnel deployed outside his home were behaving rudely with people who came to meet him and were restricting access to the house. He accused the police of overstepping their authority. The confrontation took place at Dipke’s residence in the Waluj MIDC area, where police personnel have been deployed for several weeks. The circumstances leading to the confrontation were not immediately clear. Police have not issued a formal statement on the incident.Police security was deployed outside Dipke’s residence in late May after he claimed to have received death threats on social media. Dipke had shared screenshots and videos of the alleged threats online, prompting concerns over his safety. At the time, deputy commissioner of police Pankaj Atulkar said the deployment was preventive and intended to ensure security, maintain law and order and control crowds gathering outside the residence.Senior police officers also reviewed the security arrangements ahead of Dipke’s return to Sambhajinagar after he led a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.Police have maintained that the deployment was related to security and crowd management. Dipke, however, has alleged that the personnel were instead restricting access to his residence and behaving improperly with visitors.
