NEW DELHI: Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Monday won the Bankipur assembly bypoll, defeating BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar by 19,324 votes after securing 64,151 votes, marking the first electoral victory of his political career.The bypoll, necessitated after BJP national president Nitin Nabin vacated the seat following his election to the Rajya Sabha, turned into much more than a contest for a single constituency.
