DEHRADUN: A car travelling from Haridwar to Delhi allegedly hit Kanwar pilgrims near Abdul Kalam Chowk in Mangalore on Saturday evening, following which some pilgrims vandalised the vehicle.The incident took place around 8.30 pm as the car approached the flyover near Abdul Kalam Chowk. The collision reportedly disrupted the water being carried by some of the Kanwariyas.Following the incident, some enraged Kanwariyas allegedly attacked the car with sticks and rods. A video from the spot shows several people surrounding the vehicle and recording the incident.One person is seen climbing onto the roof of the car and jumping on it repeatedly, while others join in and strike the vehicle with sticks.The video further shows people hitting the tyres, kicking the roof and windshield, and repeatedly striking the car with sticks.The car’s door can also be seen being damaged, and the vehicle suffers extensive damage in the incident.
