LUCKNOW: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped for three days after being lured from her home and confined in a hotel in Lucknow’s PGI area, police said.Five people, including two women and a 70-year-old man, have been arrested in connection with the case and sent to judicial custody.The accused have been identified as Dwarika Raidas, 70, Vinod Rawat, 20, Durgesh Rawat, 26, Khushboo, 23, and Rabia, 18.Police said the five played different roles in the abduction and sexual assault of the minor.According to police, the girl’s sister-in-law lodged a complaint on Jul 24, stating that the girl had been missing since Jul 17.During the investigation, police learnt that Durgesh and his wife Khushboo had lured the teenager away from her home.After the family traced the girl, she said that between Jul 18 and Jul 20, Rabia and her husband Vinod took her on a motorcycle to a hotel in the PGI area, where she was confined.Rabia introduced the minor to Dwarika, who repeatedly raped her during the three-day confinement.Based on the girl’s statement, Mohanlalganj police registered an FIR under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.Police arrested the five accused from Puranpur village near Kisanpath after acting on technical evidence and local intelligence.Additional DCP, South Zone, Vasanth Kumar Rallapalli said that Durgesh, Khushboo and Vinod conspired to lure and abduct the minor, while Rabia arranged her stay at the hotel and facilitated the sexual assault.Dwarika is accused of repeatedly raping the girl during her confinement.The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is under way.
